Radstadt lies amidst the Radstädter Tauern range, on the sunny terrace of the Ennstal valley. The Tauern, Dachstein and Hochkönig Ranges, along with the valleys of Gastein and Grossarltal, include some of the most celebrated winter destinations in the heart of the Alps.
Altogether there are 540 miles (860km) of runs spread across the amadé skiing regions of Salzburger Sportwelt, Schladming - Dachstein Tauern, Gastein, and Hochkönig‘s Winterreich and Grossarltal.
There are boarderparks, halfpipes and obstacle courses for snowboarders, while ambitious skiers can fulfil their dream of speed and powder on FIS slopes, deep snow, and floodlit pistes. More than 200 huts, mountain restaurants, umbrella bars and sun terraces entice guests to call in for a break, get warm, and savour well earned refreshments.
It’s quite easy to change from one area to the next: the five regions are close to each other and as Radstadt is situated in the heart of the Skialliance Amadé network it is easy to travel around the valleys either by snow or by the free and comprehensive ski bus network. The location of our holiday chalet apartments makes it easy to reach all the resorts as they are central to all.
A 4 minute drive behind the large Intersport shop brings you to a small but wonderful resort called Fageralm.
A 10 minute drive and you are at the Reiteralm where you can catch the lift
and ski all of the internationally renown Schladming ski resort including the
famous Planai as well as the resorts of Hauser Kaibling, Rohrmoos and Hochwurzen
A 15 minute straight drive on the road which passes our chalet and you are in the famous international resort of Obertauern at 2700 meters high you can be assured of snow from early November through to early May. If you fancy some Glacier skier a 30 minute drive will take you to the Dachstein Glacier.
The local ski resorts of Obertauern, Schladming, Zauchansee, Kleinarl, Flachau. Wargrain, and Eben offer a fantastic array of different skiing opportunities and are all under a 15 minute drive. Zauchansee and Kleinarl can also be reached via the ski bus shuttle from the Altenmarkt car park. That is if you do want to leave the Radstadt/Altenmarkt ski resort!!
The apartments are 10 minutes walk away from a shopping mall where there is a large Hoffa supermarket (Aldi in the UK), flood and drink there are very cheap, you can buy a good bottle of wine for under 2 euros, which is totally unlike the mega expensive supermarkets you would normally find in a resort. Maybe that's because Radstadt is lucky to have 4 major supermarkets, Billa, Spar and Penny's are the other three. There is also another large supermarket store being built in Radstadt and that is the Adeg supermarket. In the shopping mall the stores are all very large, you will find a pharmacy, two clothes stores, shoe store. ski & boot rental (Intersport) as well as the Hofa supermarket. On the other side of the roundabout you will find the Billa supermarket, a small sport 2000 ski shop another pharmacy and cloths store.
From here the walk into the Village of Radstadt is approximately 15 minutes, where you will find a whole host of hotels and restaurants as well as shops, banks, doctors etc.
As a visual guide so that you can see at a glance where the chalet apartments are situated, we have put 4 markers on the map below which point to the following:
1) The bottom right hand marker indicates where the apartments are located.
2) The bottom left hand marker depicts where the ski lifts, nursery slope and ski school are. There is also a small ski and boot rental shop which is part of the ski school. There is a snow path across the golf course that runs directly from the apartments to the lifts. The distance following the road from the apartments to the ski lifts is 850 metres.
3) The top marker shows the village of Radstadt.
4) The middle marker indicates the shopping mall.
If you click on the individual markers a text box will appear with the relevant information.
